What is Pulma

Pulma is a handheld breath-analysis device paired with a mobile app. Breathe into the device for 10 seconds and its sensors read the pattern of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) in your breath. The reading is sent to the app over Bluetooth, which shows a lung cancer risk level and whether a visit to a doctor is recommended.

Why it matters

Lung cancer is the most diagnosed cancer and the leading cause of cancer death worldwide, with about 2.5 million new cases and 1.8 million deaths in 2022. Survival is far higher when it is found early, yet early lung cancer rarely causes symptoms and screening still means a hospital visit and a CT scan. Pulma makes a first check quick, non-invasive and portable, so more people know when to see a doctor.
